The manufacturer of cosmetic active ingredients of plant origin has obtained the ERI 360° label for two new major cosmetic ingredients in its portfolio: Gatuline RC Bio and EleVastin. Both ingredients have obtained the Silver level of the ERI 360° label.
Moisturizing active ingredient for skin care, Gatuline RC BIO is a natural extract of beech budsharvested in France in areas close to the group’s production site Gatteditch in Saint-Priest. The harvest is entirely manual and the buds are harvested in limited quantities, from the lower branches, to avoid any damage to the future development of the tree. The beech trees are not irrigated and the buds, frozen directly on site to avoid any enzymatic degradation, do not need to be washed. The active ingredient is obtained by a process that does not use any chemical solvent. COSMOS certified, it displays a content of natural origin of 96.8% according to the ISO 16128 standard.
EleVastin has been designed to strengthen the elasticity of the skin and combat gravity-induced skin sagging. It comes from the leafy stems of the Murraya koenigii tree harvested manually in the preserved environment of Reunion Island, on plots managed without fertilizers or pesticides. Obtained through a mixture of solvents of vegetable origin of the LTTM (Low Transition Temperature Mixture) type, a reasoned extraction process of the NaDES type, this ingredient is COSMOS approved and displays a natural origin content of 100% according to the standard. ISO 16128.
An extremely demanding label
Co-created by players in the cosmetics industry and developed by Innov’Alliance and a panel of scientific experts ERI 360° is a particularly demanding label. It allows to accurately assess the degree of sustainability of the entire value chain and to measure the ethical, social and environmental performance of the ingredients concerned, from picking to leaving the factory.
” Our responsible and sustainable development strategy, at the heart of our CSR roadmap, begins with the development of our ingredients. We therefore see the ERI 360° label as a key tool for our R&D teams in order to optimize the sourcing of our raw materials, to integrate the principles of eco-design at each stage of the development of cosmetic products and to manage their implementation. implemented through to production. We will therefore continue the ERI 360° labeling for other products in our current portfolio and our future developments », explains Paula Lennon Cosmetics Group Director at Gatteditch.
