Dad charged with double murder after daughter, 12, was stabbed to death and wife, 44, strangled at home in Suffolk village

A MAN has been charged with the murder of his wife and 12-year-old daughter who were found dead at their home in Suffolk.

The bodies of Louise Nash and her 43-year-old mother Jillu Nash were discovered at a property in Heath Estate, Great Waldingfield, Sudbury on September 8.

A 46-year-old man was arrested by officers at the scene and taken to hospital for serious injuries, where he was arrested by police.

Suffolk Police said he was transferred to Martlesham Police Investigation Center for questioning on Saturday evening.

In an update on Sunday, the force said Peter Nash, of Heath Estate, Great Waldingfield, had been charged with two counts of murder and was due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The court heard the property was the home address of Jillu and Peter Nash who were husband and wife and lived at the property “with their 12-year-old daughter, Louise, who has severe learning difficulties”.

Police said a Home Office post-mortem examination concluded that Ms Nash’s cause of death was pressure on the neck while her daughter’s cause of death was a stab wound to the eye. ‘abdomen.

A tribute from the couple’s heartbroken family shared their “utter devastation” and heartache.

It read: ‘We, the family of Jillu and Louise Nash, have been struck with utter devastation, despair and pain by the tragic way the beautiful little lives of a young mother and child ended and from which we are now separated forever.

“Our only consolation is that Jillu and Louise are together in heaven for eternity. This disaster will never leave us and the pain will forever remain in our hearts.

“We appreciate the efforts of Suffolk Constabulary, which have been honest, sincere and sensitive.

“They treated us with great respect and care, for which we are extremely touched and gratefully acknowledge.

“We are also very grateful to Jillu’s neighbours, Sudbury residents, co-workers, teachers, peers, friends and supporters.

Detectives continued to appeal for all witnesses and urged those with information to come forward.
