The well-being caravan of Everyone against cancer is back on October 21 at the Villefranche-de-Rouergue hospital as part of Pink October.

On the occasion of Pink October, the month dedicated to prevention and research for breast cancer, the association Everyone against cancer is taking part in the fight in its own way: by pampering and taking care of women. thanks to free and adapted socio-aesthetic sessions. The Echappée Rose caravan will stop on October 21 at the Center Hospitalier de Villefranche-de-Rouergue.

The traveling wellness institute allows women, whether they are patients, companions or
caregivers, to take a break from their stressful daily life, marked by illness. The opportunity to take care of them, and to give them a moment to let go, to better face the disease.

Confront cancer by reclaiming your body

“In the disease, the patients all tend to forget themselves, and to no longer think of them. The daily treatment which is very heavy, fear for oneself and for one’s family take over. The sessions we offer help break this vicious circle. It’s a time when women are at the center of attention, and when their bodies are no longer a source of pain, but a source of well-being and joy”, explains Mélanie Hameau, coordinator of the Everyone Against the cancer.

Massage of all or part of the body, manicure, facial care or make-up are offered to beneficiaries. Each session begins with a time of exchanges with the socio-esthetician and is extended by care and advice adapted according to the priority or the need of the moment. “The women I accompany are going through a complicated period in their lives, the difficulties are specific to each one, they need to be listened to and comforted. Some need to regain self-confidence, a positive body image, others want to keep their femininity or let go, or simply take the time to take care of themselves or be pampered. Together, we decide on the appropriate treatment, the long-awaited treatment, which will do “good”, which will please and make you feel more peaceful, relaxed”, adds Véronique Panel, socio-esthetician.

For patients, mothers and also caregivers

Cancer is unfortunately a disease that affects the patient, but also those around him and the people who are confronted with it on a daily basis. The association has therefore created formats that adapt to all women who need them.

For patients or companions, the 45-minute treatment can take place in the caravan or in the hospital room, depending on travel capacity.
For caregivers, a room is specially equipped and decorated in the department to provide a 15-minute treatment, without affecting the organization. Caregivers can benefit from the care of socio-estheticians throughout the day directly at their workplace.
