Madame Figaro Trophy: the grand finale

The appointment was made for the 24 teams that won their ticket for our national final. Only one team was missing, due to a shortage of petrol. They were housed in the two hotels of the Evian Resort, the Royal and the Ermitage, overlooking Lake Geneva. The festivities kicked off on Sunday evening with a dinner in the Hôtel Royal’s G7 lounge. On the menu: tasting of caviar and salmon from the Kaviari house, accompanied by Charles Heidsieck blanc de blancs, before dinner concocted by the resort’s starred chef, Patrice Vander: pumpkin bavarois, ravioli of ricotta carrot and lemon and chocolate and coffee . The next day, at 8:30 a.m., the first teams took the start of the competition. Most of them had played the game of our “Disco” dress code to try to win the elegance prize awarded by our partners, Eden Park and Yseal Salon et Coiffure.

With 23 degrees on the thermometer and sunshine worthy of August, we witnessed a parade of sequined jumpsuits and bell bottoms on the greens. Halfway through, Dammann Frères teas offered all participants a tasting of their latest creation: Maté Clémentine, rich in caffeine and energizing; Carcadet blackcurrant mint infusion; Rooibos carrot cake. After the game, it was Leonor Greyl – a specialist in high-end hair care which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its flower cream this year – which offered a hair analysis. The day ended with the award ceremony, on the lawn, next to the green of number 5, one of the signature holes of the Evian Resort Golf Club.
