For some time now, we have been hearing a LOT about the HydraFacial treatment.MD which is said to be completely revolutionary. To find out more, we turned to our partner The Urban Beauty Experience who provides this service.
Esthetician Marjolyna Lecours-Côté is the one who provides this treatment and she tells us everything we should know (and frankly makes us want to make an appointment!)

What is the HydraFacial treatment?MD?
“First of all, the HydraFacial treatmentMD is a super complete treatment for all skin types. It improves skin tone, texture and hydration. It is a non-invasive treatment that uses patented technology to cleanse, extract, regenerate, hydrate and protect your skin over the long term. On its own, it brings together different skin health technologies: microdermabrasion, peeling, suction extraction, light therapy and more!
To ensure that the exfoliation is homogeneous, the treatment uses the patented HydroPeel nozzlesMD, it’s so effective! HydraFacialMD powerfully exfoliates, extracts and hydrates the skin. It removes dead cells, cleans pores and encourages cells to renew themselves. The spiral tip infuses the serum into the skin. All without pain!
HydraFacialMD also helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, refine skin texture, improve elasticity and skin texture (softer and firmer) and reduce pigment spots. It is a less invasive alternative to peeling and microdermabrasion.
What’s almost magical is that the complexion looks more even and luminous from the first treatment.”
Are there different options?
“There are different possibilities to personalize your treatment since several serums are currently available to improve the results of your treatment. There’s also the option to choose between blue or red LED light therapy (blue is antibacterial and soothing, while red light is anti-inflammatory, healing, and anti-aging).
You can also choose other options such as lymphatic drainage, which releases toxins from the skin, helps blood circulation, restores radiance to the complexion, or hydratherapy, which includes a personalized serum and light therapy. The best way to make a choice is to discuss it with your beautician and validate your options to arrive at a tailor-made result.”
How often should we receive this treatment?
“To work on a specific problem, such as pigment spots, fine lines and wrinkles, firmness, we recommend a cure for optimal results. We therefore suggest seeing each other at least 4 times every 7 to 10 days. When you choose this option, you have to be diligent, because it is a shock treatment for a better result!”
How is the treatment going?
Depending on the options chosen, it will take between 45 minutes and 1h30. For a basic care (exfoliation, cleansing, hydration and protection), we do a consultation and then we can provide the care if there are no contraindications. You might have a little redness after the treatment, but it all fades quickly, within hours.
Consult your beautician for the list of contraindications.
HydraFacialMDis it only for the face?
“Nope! You can really take care of it from head to toe! The protocol helps to eliminate pigment spots on the hands; lymphatic drainage can improve circulation, thus relieving edema, swollen ankles. For the neck, décolleté and face, it helps firmness, reduce wrinkles and give radiance.
HydraFacialMD can also be helpful in clearing congested skin on the back and buttocks.
For a healthy scalp, the Keravive treatment stimulates hair growth and densifies it while releasing the hair follicles. This treatment includes a take-home spray to extend benefits between treatments.
