The body of Justine Vayrac, missing since October 23 in Corrèze, was found Thursday after the suspect confessed to having killed her. The timeline of the hours leading up to the crime begins to take shape.

Justine Vayrac disappeared on Sunday October 23 around 4 a.m. A few hours earlier, the 20-year-old young woman, mother of a 2-year-old child and student to become a caregiver, finds friends. Initially, she had not planned to continue the party until the morning, indicating that she intended to meet her boyfriend in Tauriac, when he too had an evening on his side. But the group finally decides to go to a nightclub, at “La Charrette”, near Brive.
There, Justine begins to feel bad and tells her comrades that she wants to go out for a few minutes and go rest in her car. She is then accompanied by a friend, Theo, with whom she meets the man who is now accused of having killed her. Justine and Lucas L. know each other. “I saw that they were laughing together”, recalls Théo in “Le Figaro”. Lucas L. promises the latter to take care of his friend while he returns to party. But when he returns forty minutes later, Justine is no longer there. “I have other things to do than think about your drunk friend”, would then have sent Lucas L. by SMS to Justine’s friend, who asked him for news.
His partially naked body found
During his confession to the police, the suspect explained that after Theo left, he accompanied Justine to an industrial area, where she was supposed to be looked after by another person. But, he then admitted having brought the victim home, where he claims to have had “consensual sexual intercourse”, commented Thursday the Limoges prosecutor, Baptiste Porcher, at a press conference. For some reason yet to be determined, he then punched the student. If he claims to have given him only one fatal punch, the first findings on Justine’s remains indicate several blows to the face, “including at least one with a contending weapon”. Seeing her inanimate, Lucas L. transported the body to the forest, in his vehicle, before going to borrow an agricultural machine to dig the ground and bury the corpse there. The body of Justine Vayrac, partially naked, was found Thursday by investigators at the place indicated by Lucas L., on the edge of the forest.
In his confession, he also said that he had accompanied another young woman the same night, which the latter confirmed, reports BFMTV. She would have described to the investigators a withdrawn and mute man. A behavior that was not, according to her, in her habits.
Lucas L., “normal, balanced” but already known to justice
After Justine was reported missing, suspicion quickly fell on Lucas L., in whom blood was found, as well as the victim’s charred handbag. He was indicted on Thursday for “rape, forcible confinement and murder”. According to his lawyer quoted by France Bleu, his client has not “has not yet fully realized what happened”. He added that the drama happened “in a disco, against a backdrop of alcohol”, saying the 21-year-old had a “completely normal, balanced profile”. Described by his relatives as a jovial boy, he was however known to justice for having set fire to an agricultural shed in 2020.
