His mark is felt in every scene of the Cabinet of Curiosities. Here is the explanation of the end of each of its chapters to better immerse you in the atmosphere.

Before explaining the end of the 1st episode of Cabinet of curiosities by Guillermo del Toro, a few introductions are in order. Tim Blake Nelson stars as Nick Appleton, a war veteran returned to the United States.

This racist hates blacks, immigrants in general… He outbids storage units to be able to resell them at a better price one day, he wins at auction a storage cabinet filled with strange Nazi memorabilia. The same day, Miss Amelia, a Mexican, begs him to recover some family memories. She would like to recover them in her old unit which he previously acquired during another sale. Nick refuses and this decision seals his fate.

An auctioneer wanting to find a book in the Nazi treasury, teams up with Nick. They find a secret room containing a corpse in the unit. She is the sister of the unit’s previous owner. His body was used to transport a tentacled demon to Earth.

His greed pushes Nick to disrupt protective spell around the demon who then escapes. He immediately goes after the auctioneer if Nick manages to escape to a locked door. Miss Amelia is on the other side and he asks her to open it, as he is in great danger. This she refused to do and left him to die, devoured by the demon.

The second episode of Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is also in the same tone as the first. It is here a question of Masson, a man deeply in debt who will also do everything to repay his debts.

Masson desecrates the tombs he is supposed to protect in order to unearth possible riches. He runs after an extremely precious saber offered by the king to Winston who has just died. In his quest, he must pursue the rats that have taken over the body and dragged it into the caverns under the cemetery. He must then do facing a gigantic rat who attacks him, but he manages to escape.

The grave robber then follows a reflection of light which he believes points the way out. Unfortunately for him, he crawls towards a coffin, the light being a reflection of the metal plate inside said coffin. Masson then finds himself buried alive and quickly assailed by the rats which devour it.

The Autopsy

This episode of Cabinet of curiosities by Guillermo del Toro has a memorable ending and stars F. Murray Abraham as of Doctor Carl. He comes to examine the bodies of the victims of a mining accident. Carl then realizes that the body he is preparing to autopsy is still alive and harboring an alien parasite.

The corpse wakes up and reveals to him that he is just a host and that the accident is actually the alien’s attempt to destroy his ship. The alien then prepares to transfer its consciousness and parasite into Carl’s body. He monologues about his plan, however, allowing Carl to come up with his own.

In a brutal act of sacrifice, Carl blinds and deafens himself before slitting his throat just as the alien enters his body. This act imprisons the alien in its carcass and it cannot escape. Carl has it all figured out, because he recorded the autopsy and his friend Nate, the sheriff, is sure to find out. As he had expected, the sheriff discovers her body and presses the tape to see all of what really happened.

The Prison of Appearances

This chapter focuses on Stacey, a bank teller who desperately wants to fit in with her colleagues. This obsession leads her to use Alo Glo, a treatment that gives him rashes. However, she continues to use it despite the side effects. Of course, at the end of this episode of Cabinet of curiosities by Guillermo del Torothis will have consequences.

Her husband then begs her to stop and even admits to her that he doesn’t want him to change, because she is beautiful on the outside as well as on the inside. Stacey then murders him, as she identifies him as an obstacle to its transformation.

A creature made of Alo Glo then dives into her bathtub and she follows. Her skin then peels off and she emerges from the tub as beautiful and fresh as ever. This transformation allows him to be accepted and even admired by his colleagues. Stacey manages to have what she always dreamed of, but she had to kill the only person who loved him really.

The end of this episode of Cabinet of curiosities by Guillermo del Toro claim that art can infect you like a virus. William Thurber found this out the hard way. Pickman’s nightmarish plays and their demonic influence are very real.

Thurber was Pickman’s first fan. Constantly haunted by demonic visions and strange apparitions, he tries to move on with his family. Pickman, however, reappears in her life following an invitation to the artists’ society of which Thurber is a member.

In his attempt to prevent the exhibition of the artist’s work, Thurber shoots him and burns his artwork to hide his crime. He then lives one of the demons from Pickman’s works take back the body of this artist to drag it into the well in the basement.

The next day, Thurber goes to the exhibition and discovers that the pieces he had burned the day before, were exhibited there. His colleagues, wife and son are in love. He thinks he has rescued them in time from the grip of this evil art, but this is not the case.

Thurber later finds his wife staring blankly, with her face covered in blood. She is preparing a feast with the head of their son for the demon who comes looking for them.

This episode at the sad end of the Cabinet of curiosities by Guillermo del Toro speaks of a man, Walter, devastated by the loss of his sister Epperly in their childhood.

He then tries to find a way to the spirit realm to bring Epperly back. He succeeds, but brings with them something terrible. They then move into the infamous house of a witch called Keziah Mason.

The latter follows them, but Epperly manages to save his brother from the clutches of this witch and her ratman companion, Jenkins Brown. Keziah then evaporates, but everything does not return to normal.

The witch indeed takes her revenge through Jenkins who killed Walter by cutting her way through his chest. He even took Walter’s body control to spread evil around him again.

The exhibition

This episode of Cabinet of curiosities by Guillermo del Toro starts with an invitation and has a spine-chilling ending.

Each of the guests participated in a TV show. It is not known why they were invited to this gathering. They then wake up in a strange room after being unknowingly drugged. The room only houses a large glittering rock known as the Obelisk.

Randall then smokes and the rock produces a shrill sound after inhaling the smoke. This sound causes great pain to anyone who hears it. Some have nosebleeds, watery eyes while others will have their heads melt and explode.

A creature then escapes from the obelisk and subsequently becomes a human-sized, muscular monster. He then joined the metropolis. What does not bode nothing good for this town.

Whisper

Nancy and Edgar mourn the loss of their child. Unable to communicate their feelings, they concentrate on their work. They will then take up residence in a strange house where Nancy begins to hear and see things. She eventually discovers that a mother killed her child there.

Edgard then leaves Nancy and her growing obsession with the strange house. The latter ends up finding the ghost of the deceased child and helps him to cross to the other side. Nancy then hears screams and sees the ghost of the child’s mother leap out of the window.

The final scenes hint that Nancy has finally come to terms with her grief thanks to the journey undertaken with the ghosts of the house. She then calls Edgard on the radio and apologizes for his behavior and confesses to him that she still loves him. But above all, she wants to talk about the daughter they lost.
