Taking care of the process dimension, the sacral chakra

The dimension of the process; the lifeblood of the company

Her Sanskrit name is Svadhisthana, which can be translated as “Life Force” or “The Seat of the Self.” » It is the dimension of pleasure, of joy, the symbol of fertility, of creativity. It is from this dimension that the project is created, takes its concrete form. His universe is water, the fluidity that allows movement, change, adaptation.

VShe chakra is the seat of emotions. Emotions invite us to move, it is the engine of our survival instinct. If an external element disturbs our existence and threatens it, emotion awakens our senses to push us to act to save ourselves. By blocking the emotions, we block the movement. However, it provides us with fundamental information that it is essential to listen to in order to understand and adjust our behavior.

The emotion most conducive to success is joy. Success comes through pleasure, we can ask ourselves the question ; Do we experience pleasure because we succeed or do we succeed because we take pleasure? Everything is intimately linked, but it is obvious that if I don’t like what I do I won’t get anything that satisfies me. It is the motivation, the pleasure, the desire to see my project come to fruition that brings it to fruition. When there is no more pleasure, frustration is created, negative emotions which circulate in this dimension and which will produce the opposite of what we would like to see happen. The more I am in the flow, the pleasure, the more everything flows with coherence, relevance. Without pleasures, there are no motivations, and without motivations, there is no longer sufficient energy for action.

The quality of the implementation of the action will therefore depend on the motivation of its members, their capacity for adjustment, understanding, acceptance, adaptation, the better they will work with pleasure and the more effective their action will be. The more the action will be fluid in pleasure and joy, the easier and more relevant it will be.

Ways to take care of the dimension of the process

The principle is to structure a pleasant, stimulating, practical and operational work environment dedicated to the comfort of carrying out work, individually and collectively.

In this dimension of the process, we are invited to enjoy the source of motivation, to listen to the feelings of the emotions in order to understand and adjust, adapt.

The lever of motivation

In the managerial sense, motivation determines the action of people at work. It is creating and maintaining situations that stimulate his desire to carry out the tasks and achieve the objectives entrusted to him.

We don’t motivate people… We offer them the opportunity to motivate themselves

The manager must create the conditions allowing each of his collaborators to be motivated. Several sources of motivation can be activated:

  • The consideration, it is the attention paid to the collaborator, to his person and to his work: Nothing is worse than indifference, examples: Politeness, listening, attention paid to their work, Informing, communicating. They are also objective feedback
  • emulation, it is a feeling that pushes to surpass oneself or to equal someone. Everyone is sensitive to the gaze of their peers. The role of the manager is important to create the conditions for healthy emulation (equity) and no unhealthy competition (injustice, etc.)
  • pride of belonging is also a powerful driving force, we are social beings of ties and we need to feel that we belong to a group, a collective. We can be proud of the team, the department, or the direction to which we belong, the body to which we belong…
  • material self-interest, remuneration plays an important role as long as a decent level is not reached but it only comes after other factors. The bonuses are a recognition of the effort made. Also think about taking on responsibilities, career prospects, training, etc.
  • Ideology, values, meaning, the personal external reasons that motivate people in self-realization and or to work for the collective good. Often linked to the ideal job they have chosen to exercise.

Take care of the work environment

  • Create a warm and welcoming space where you can take a break and meet your colleagues
  • Harmonize the place with green plants and above all take care of them
  • Provide free display panels so that everyone can express their creativity, their favorites…
  • Structure an operational, practical, pleasant workspace, adjusted to the needs of the person
  • Provide ergonomic equipment adapted and chosen by the user
  • Offer pleasant, practical and even playful work organization tools (calendar with color – emoticon – drawing – photo, etc.)

Caring for people, teams

  • Give people the means to carry out their tasks by facilitating their work organization as much as possible.
  • Carry out a QVT diagnosis to identify the needs of employees and build with them an adjusted organization

Meeting idea:

Process meeting…

  • As a team, express and note all the organizational points that pose problems, or new ideas to be developed. Make one card per idea.
  • Prepare color cards, as many colors as participants or services and distribute the batches of cards to each participant.
  • Around a table place a problem card on the table (or on a Flipchart)
  • Follow the chronological process of the chosen action or activity. Each employee notes on a sheet of his color when and how he intervenes in the process of the action.
  • Identify the process chain, gaps, duplicates, knots…
  • Solve in teams the areas to be corrected.
  • Validate this new team organizational process.

Don’t hesitate to bring humor, games and joy into the exercise.

Interview idea:

Active listening interview: Let your employee express their needs

  • Pay attention to others
  • Be present to the message
  • Make say rather than say
  • Understand before responding; use rephrasing techniques

Team building idea

Focus on individual and collective rhythm

  • In an empty room of furniture, invite participants to move around the space
  • Slow pace to start
  • Accelerate the pace to be very fast
  • Pause then everyone is invited to walk at the pace that suits them
  • Identify how long it takes for the rhythm to be uniform, stop if necessary and debrief

Debrief on the exercise on how everyone felt? what rhythm suits him? how does he experience the rhythm of others around him? make the link with the workstation…

Take care of yourself

The principle is to rethink your work, your task to take pleasure in its achievement. And/or to organize their day to plan moments of break, shared joy, pleasure, creativity. It is also taking care of yourself, having fun to radiate the joy of living and spread it around you.

  • Take a real break that brings joy and satisfaction: listening to music – eating what you like – moving, dancing, drawing.
  • Do not get stuck in front of a file. Go out for a walk, walk, get some fresh air, let go of your mind, breathe, when you come back you are 10 times more effective the ideas come back…
  • Take care of your appearance, for you. Choose your clothing according to your desires of the day.

It is up to everyone to find in their internal resources their inner child, the source of their creativity and their pleasure in living, acting and working.

How can taking care of yourself help your business?

By being yourself, by breathing the joy of living, by looking at the positive in each situation, you radiate and communicate this positive state of mind around you. Emotions are contagious, if they are positive it will benefit your business.
