LTuesday’s weather will remain very choppy in Corsica, with still good rains in the South-West and showers elsewhere, according to Météo-France forecasts. The sometimes stormy showers will continue until late Tuesday morning, giving accumulations of 60 to 80 mm, locally 90 mm. The Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Corsica were placed in orange vigilance for the night of Monday to Tuesday due to the passage of a rainy episode on the Atlantic coast and an “autumn storm” on the island of Beauty.

A yellow vigilance is also activated for rain-flooding, storm and waves-submersion for the Isle of Beauty. The Pyrénées-Atlantiques remain on orange rain-flood alert until 12 p.m. Tuesday, while Corsica is on orange alert for strong winds from Tuesday morning at 6 a.m. and until at least 4 p.m.

Wind in Corsica

In Corsica, after a good rainy period, sometimes stormy in the night, the day will take place under a sky that is still very crowded and frequent rains, sometimes marked, giving good accumulations. Tuesday morning, a west wind blowing between 80 and 100 km / h is expected over the whole island before strengthening over a large part of the island, blowing between 100 and 110 km / h and “locally 120 to 140 km/h on the most exposed capes and passes”. From New Aquitaine to the west of Auvergne and Midi-Pyrénées, there too the weather will be further disturbed. The showers will be numerous from morning to evening, sometimes stormy on the Aquitaine coast. In the south of Aquitaine, these often long-lasting rains will eventually give significant accumulations. The rain-snow limit will be close to 1000 m and will rise in the evening. Similarly, from Brittany and Normandy to the Hauts de France, from the morning, showers will be very frequent. In the afternoon, this very cloudy weather with temporary rains will extend to the Paris region and the Grand-Est. Elsewhere, the showers will be less numerous.

On the other hand, from the plains of Roussillon to PACA and the middle Rhône valley, the weather will become drier and quite sunny again, but with west to northwest winds up to 80 to 100 km/h in gusts. The westerly wind will remain strong in the west and north of the country, it reaches 90 to 100 km/h near the Atlantic, 100 to 110 km/h on the Channel coasts, from 60 to 80 km/h in the lands. Minimum temperatures will generally be between 2 and 6 degrees in the interior of the country, between 6 and 10 degrees in the coastal regions, 10 to 13 in Corsica. The maximum will range from 7 to 11 degrees from the northern borders to the Massif Central and the north of Rhône-Alpes, from 9 to 14 degrees in the northwest, from 11 to 16 degrees elsewhere.
